Tottenham target Cech as Lloris replacement

Tottenham want to sign Petr Cech as a replacement for Hugo Lloris. Spurs could be set to lose the French keeper this summer, with Barcelona, PSG and Roma all keen on signing him and giving him the Champions League football he craves.

Thibaut Courtois is almost certain to return to Chelsea and take Petr Cech’s first-team place, which could spell the end of an outstanding decade at the Stamford Bridge club for Cech. Daniel Levy wants about ÂŁ30m for Lloris, which would be enough for the club to then put in a bid for the Czech Republic man.

Lloris’ future at White Hart Lane is unlikely to be decided until after the World Cup. By that time, Courtois will have returned to Stamford Bridge. Both Cech and Courtois won’t be happy sitting on the bench, so one of the two will look for a move away and it seems Jose Mourinho would rather have the Belgian as his number one.

32-year old Cech is settled in London and is also keen to stay in the Premier League, which is why a move to Spurs may appeal to him. However, if Tottenham do fail in a bid for him, they will instead turn to Cardiff’s David Marshall as a possible replacement.
