TOUCHLINE BAN FOR SIR ALEX?

UEFA is likely to consider a potential touchline ban on Sir Alex Ferguson, the Machester United manager after he breached code of conduct by not attending the post game press conference after United’s loss to Real Madrid at Old Traford in the Champions League which saw the side being knocked out. His deputy attended the conference citing that his boss was too ‘distraught’ to turn up after a stormy game that included a controversial red card for United winger Nani.

A UEFA spokesperson mentioned that the penalty for Ferguson can be any among a warning, fine or touchline ban. He said “It can be a warning, a fine or not being allowed on the bench. We will have to wait and see.” Uefa’s Control and Disciplinary Body will also decide tomorrow whether Nani’s red card in that game will fetch him just the usual one match suspension or be increased to more games.

Alex Ferguson has been in charge of over 200 Champions League games and had never missed the post game press con till the one against Real Madrid.
