Yaya Toure has revealed that he wants to stay at Man City. The Premier League trio of Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the midfielder this summer.

After he wasn’t wished a happy birthday by City, it looked like he could be on the way out. But he’s now put an end to all the speculation. The Ivory Coast star and his representative, Dimitri Seluk, have confirmed that he intends to honour his contract at the Etihad, which runs out in 2017.

He said: “The fans have always been good to me, they’ve always been good to my family. I want to stay. I will always honour my contract. I don’t think about all this speculation.

“It’s a big pleasure to stay and enjoy the next season.”

Seluk had originally sparked speculation over his future by claiming Toure was disappointed the club didn’t celebrate his birthday. But Toure has now put an end to all the talk and he looks set to stay at City.
