Townsend: “I don’t get it”

“I don’t understand what the deal is”, he tweets after news leaked out about the England coach telling a racist joke during halftime. Hodgson has later had to apologize; I would like to apologize to anyone who was hurt by what was said during halftime, he says according to The Guardian.

“I had no intention in offending anyone.”

At least one player from the England team wasbeen offended, and is said to have taken it like a “monkeyjoke”.

The player that the joke was concerning, Andros Townsend, is apparently not that player.

“I don’t get what the big deal is. He had no hurtful intent and no one was hurt! It’s not even newsworthy!”, he tweets.
