Premier League clubs show interest in Lyon forward

Alexandre Lacazette’s admission that he dreams of a move to the Premier League, has caught the attention of a number of clubs.

Newcastle United made a ÂŁ25 million bid for the Lyon man in January, only for it to be turned down. But Liverpool and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in the forward, who netted 27 goals in 33 Ligue 1 games last season.

Lacazette has openly expressed his desire to leave for England, forcing Lyon into a corner on his immediate future, and last season’s goal tally has raised his profile and his demand.

“A departure ? Yes, I think about the Premier League is very attractive for a player,” Lacazette admitted.

“But I know that to go, I have to play well this season. So I’m very focused and perhaps after that, I will leave.”

Goal shy

The 24-year-old has dried up with goals a little this season, scoring 12 in 25 outings. However, that wont stop some key Premier League sides pursuing the striker, and Lacazette knows his club is aware of that.

“I know it is possible to go in the Premier League and Lyon is also aware.” Lacazette added.

Lyon are chasing Champions League football for next campaign, while the Magpies could return with a second bid, having recently appointed former Real Madrid boss, Rafa Benitez, as manager.

Meanwhile, another option for Lacazette is Arsenal, where he could work with fellow Frenchman Arsene Wenger.
