Arsenal contacted Bayern Munich over deal for star

Reports indicate Arsenal made secret enquiries to Bayern Munich regarding a deal for star attacker Thomas Muller.

The two clubs are meeting in a Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

And ahead of the crunch clash, the Daily Mail reported that the Gunners contacted the German giants over a deal.

They, as well as Manchester United whose advances for Muller were more public, were told that the German, 26, was going nowhere.

Muller has been a key part of the Bayern juggernaut which has swept all before them so far this season.

The Bundesliga side have won all nine of their league games this season, as well as their opening two Champions League group games.

Muller scored the only goal as Bayern beat Werder Bremen 1-0 at the weekend.

Arsenal badly need a win if they are to have any chance of qualifying after losing their opening two group fixtures.

They will be hoping that Muller, as well as the lethal Robert Lewandowski, can be kept quiet.
