The shot-stopper requires surgery

England goalkeeper Jack Butland will miss Euro 2016 after fracturing his ankle in the 3-2 comeback win over Germany during Saturday night’s friendly in Berlin.

The 23-year old will have an operation today after suffering the injury just before Toni Kroos put the hosts 1-0 up.

Butland was replaced by Southampton’s Fraser Forster, who will more than likely start in tonight’s match against the Netherlands due to the Three Lions’ regular number one Joe Hart also missing out through injury.

Tom Heaton was called-up in Hart’s place, but the Burnley man is still awaiting his international debut despite being in the squad on several occasions.
