Arsenal boss Unai Emery has insisted Mesut Ozil needs to show more quality after the German guided his team to a 7th consecutive victory in the Premier League.
Arsenal came from behind to upset Leicester City 3-1 to break into the Premier League top four. They are now just two points adrift of the top two and their brilliant consistent performance has made them a serious title contender this season.
The Foxes made an inspiring start to the match and deservedly took the lead through a Hector Bellerin own goal. But a sparkling performance from Ozil saw them reducing the deficit just before the break.
The Gunners captain then engineered an excellent second half as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed another home win with a brace.
Emery said, “Today I am very happy.
“The performance is together and also each player showed us their quality, their capacity, and we are also demanding a lot of quality from ourselves.
Mesut Ozil had a very good performance today. We are going to push to demand more from ourselves and from him also. In the team we have a lot of players with this capacity [to be captain] because each player can help us with their quality and capacity.
“We have very clear captains and each one is important, but I think he [Ozil] can play every match with his commitment and his quality. We are going to demand this commitment and behaviour from every player, and then with our quality we can help each other on the pitch.”
