Arsenal boss Unai Emery has denied rumors of refusing Joachim Low to meet Mesut Ozil at the training ground. Rumors arose that Joachim Low wanted to speak to Mesut Ozil after the winger’s retirement from international football but Emery did not allow him to do so.
Following Arsenal’s Carabao Cup win over Brentford, Emery said that the rumors were untrue. He said, “It’s not true that I didn’t let Mesut meet with Low. I had no problem in our situation in the training ground. It’s not true.”
Apparently, Low came came to Hertfordshire to visit former Arsenal defender and Germany international Per Mertesacker. Since, Hertforrdshire was not far from Arsenal’s training ground, he thought of meeting Ozil.
However, Ozil was not present in the training ground at the time but Low did talk to Bernd Leno and Shkodran Mustafi.
Arsenal began their Carabao Cup campaign well by defeating Brentford 3-1. Two first half goals from Danny Welbeck gave the Gunners a 2-0 lead. Brentford pulled one back thanks to Alan Judge before substitute Alexandre Lacazette added a third in injury time.
Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture is against Watford on Saturday.
