Manchester United join Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham in race to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Manchester United have joined Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham in the race to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, reports say.

Jose Mourinho is searching the market for midfield reinforcements with Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini both set to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

Carrick will hang up his boots and immediately join the coaching staff at United. Fellaini is expected to move to Italy having rejected multiple contract offers from Ed Woodward.

Napoli star Jorginho is attracting interest from the Red Devils, but the club are also eyeing a move for Doucoure, who has been one of the stars at Watford this season.

The Daily Mirror say scouts from Old Trafford watched the Frenchman in action last weekend.

Watford will be reluctant to sell Doucoure on the cheap. When asked about his future at Vicarage Road recently, the 25-year-old said: “We’ll see what the state of play is in the summer and then we can ask questions.”
