The Red Devils were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Fiorentina man this summer but reports from Colombia claim that Louis Van Gaal is preparing to have another go at trying to lure him to the Premier League.

Cuadrado was expected to leave Italy following an impressive season, with Barcelona also reportedly looking to capture his signature.

However, after holding lengthy talks with Fiorentina, he agreed to stay put and has started the Serie A campaign, dealing a hefty blow to Van Gaal’s plans for the season.

Despite rejecting a move, the Dutch manager is still keen to bring Cuadrado to Old Trafford and is willing to spend £30million in the process despite having the likes of Di Maria, Valencia, Mata and Januzaj at his disposal.

The purchase of the Colombian star would also provide defensive possibilities as United’s back line has often been under scrutiny and Van Gaal will look to have the deal wrapped up as soon as possible as the Red Devils look to be back in the Champions League for next season.
