Sergio Ramos will only move to Manchester United if he receives £260,000-a-week

The Real Madrid man would command a fee of around £50million should he leave the Bernabeu.

Ramos, 29, is reportedly unhappy at the La Liga giants and is open to the possibility of a move to Louis Van Gaal’s side.

The Spain international, whose contract expires in 2017, is believed to be a target for United manager Louis Van Gaal.

The former Bayern Munich coach is searching for an experienced centre-back and Ramos would fit the bill – he has over 100 Spain caps and more than 400 for Madrid.

Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi is also another rumoured target for the United manager with the Argentine international thought to be wanting a move away from the Spanish side.

Player’s wages

According to the Daily Mail, in order for United to sign Ramos they would need to make him the club’s joint highest earner alongside Wayne Rooney who is on £260,000-a-week.

United chiefs are well aware the Madrid player could be manipulating potential interest so that he can manufacture an improved deal to remain at the Bernabeu.

Ramos for De Gea

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding United goalkeeper David De Gea and whether he will move back to his homeland and join Madrid this summer.

Although the Red Devils are reluctant to sell the Spaniard they could use De Gea as a bargaining chip to entice Madrid into selling Ramos.

Stones interest

Everton’s John Stones is another player who Louis Van Gaal has reportedly set his sights on this summer as part of a £150million spending spree.

The England international played for Barnsley before moving to the Toffees for a reported fee of £3million, back in January 2013.
