Victor Valdes will remain out of favour, according to the Manchester Evening News

The Spaniard was only included in United’s Premier League squad to conform to Premier League rules, claim the MEN.

Valdes, 33, joined the Red Devils on an 18-month contract in January but has made just two appearances, since leaving former club Barcelona.

Speculation started to gather about an exit from the club when he was omitted from the squad, during their pre-season tour of the USA.

Tensions between Valdes and United manger Louis Van Gaal appeared to rise when he apparently refused to play for the Under-21s after being dropped from the first-team.

Besiktas had agreed a deal to sign Valdes but the move then collapsed when the Turkish club attempted to change various terms at the last minute.

United were chasing Real trio

Manchester United registered their interest in Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, according to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

“No. It is not true [Bale bid]. We just know that Manchester United expressed their interest in Bale, Benzema and Varane” said Perez.

Van Gaal decided against any of those players and signed 19-year-old Anthony Martial from Monaco for £36million, with the fee potentially rising to £58million.

The France Under-21 international has move to the Old Trafford club on a four-year-deal, with the option of a fifth year.
