Valencia have reached an agreement to sign Portugal winger Gonçalo Guedes from PSG. The transfer fee for Guedes is £36 million. Guedes joined PSG from Benfica last January for £27 million. Eight months later, he was loaned to Valencia. He spent the majority of last season at Los Che, playing 38 matches across all competitions. Guedes scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists for the La Liga club. For PSG, he played 13 matches across all competitions, providing an assist.
Guedes made his international debut for Portugal against Russia in 2015. So far, he has played 14 matches and scored three goals for the national team. In the World Cup, Guedes started in three of Portugal’s four matches and came on as a sub in one game against Iran.
Los Che released a statement on their official website regarding the signing of Guedes. The statement read, “Valencia CF have reached an agreement on Monday with Paris Saint-Germain FC for the definitive transfer of Portuguese international Gonçalo Guedes, who will travel to Valencia on Tuesday to sign his contract as a new Valencia CF player.”
