Valencia Manager Confirms Interest In Chicharito

Valencia manager Marcelino insists the Spanish side is interested in Javier Hernandez but a deal with West Ham United is looking pretty difficult in this month.

Chicharito, what he is fondly called has featured in a handful number of games only this season. The Hammers have pondered option of letting him leave the club permanently but Valencia are keen to take the player on a short term loan deal.

Hernandez has featured in 15 matches so far with nine of them being starts. The 30 year old is not the preferred choice for Manuel Pellegrini and if a substantial offer arrives the East London side will sanction his departure it seems.

Marcelino wants to use the January transfer to strengthen his attack. With Michy Batshuayi destined to leave Mestalla for his parent club Chelsea, Chicharito could fill his void. The Mexican international knows the art of scoring and could be a valued asset for the Spanish side.

Marcelino said, “Chicharito is an option.

“He is not getting much game-time and he is willing to join us, but the situation is complicated.

“The little information I have suggests to me that West Ham are only looking to sell the player.”
