Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that he will not rest Lionel Messi for the rest of the season.
The Argentine ace has been in tremendous form this season for the Blaugrana in their bid to win the La Liga trophy.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that he will not rest talisman Lionel Messi for the rest of the season. The Blaugrana won their last match against Espanyol in La Liga to get one hand on the trophy already but the manager is determined not to let the Argentine get a breather as he is in tremendous form and has almost single-handedly led his side to a second title in two years.
The Barcelona manager said, “We’ll see tomorrow about Leo. The three points tomorrow are worth the same as those against Atletico.”
He said, “It is a perfect match to win. It does not escape me that our rivals are waiting for a slip to feed their hopes of catching us. We don’t want give it any opportunities. There are nine games, if we win six we are champions,” he added. “But having to win six games does not mean we have the league won, we have a lot of work to do.”
