Louis Van Gaal has made a bid of £15 million for Sporting Lisbon defender Marco Rojo, according to The Metro.
United have been linked with the Argentine international, who played a starring role in Argentina’s World Cup campaign, for several weeks now, and Van Gaal has tested the waters and submitted a formal bid.
According to press in both Argentina and Portugal, Sporting have had their asking price matched, however they want their cash up front if any deal is to be done.
24 year old Rojo has made 49 appearances diring his time at the Portuguese club, having signed from Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2012.
