Victor Moses to become a Chelsea starter

Victor Moses could well become a Chelsea regular after manager Antonio Conte heaped ‘incredible’ praise on him after their 2-0 win over Hull City.

The Italian gaffer surprised Chelsea fans by including Moses in his starting line-up in place of out-of-favour Cesc Fabregas as he moved to an unfamiliar 3-4-3 formation.

Moses played play out of position at right-wing back in his first Premier League start for the Blues since May 2013 but impressed massively.

Conte heaped praise on the Nigeria international and described his performance as ‘incredible’ while also hoping to see more from the 25-year-old this season.

Speaking after their 2-0 victory against Hull City, Conte said: “Moses played an incredible game.

“In defensive situations and offensive situations, he was fantastic because he was working very hard.

“He deserved to play and he showed me my choice was right.

“If he plays in this way it’s fantastic. I also think Pedro [can play there].

“It gives us the opportunity to use wingers – if we have wingers who can play in this role, it gives us great options.” he added.

After putting in a very energetic display, Moses was replaced by Spain international Pedro late on after picking up a hamstring injury and will now be assessed by Chelsea’s medical team.
