FC Barcelona goalkeeper has verbally agreed a move to French side AS Monaco, unless the mega-rich club fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The Spanish international has already admitted that he wants to move away from Barca this Summer once his current deal expires and there were original talks of a move to the Premier League being a possibility, with both Manchester City and Arsenal being interested in the 32-year-old.
The verbal agreement has been reached between both parties and the only way that deal can be broken is if the French side do not finish in a Champions League spot, but the ‘keeper seems interested in the move.
Valdes admitted on French television recently: ‘Monaco, France and the French League in general are all very attractive to me. It is one of the possible options. Why not Monaco. It would be a nice option.’
