Aston Villa are poised to make an ambitious effort to sign Mexican striker Javier Hernandez amongst other players.
It is understood that Hernandez top’s a lofty wish-list that manager Paul Lambert has for the upcoming transfer window, wih Manchester City defender, Joleon Lescott and Tottenham midfielder, Lewis Holtby also in mind.
Villa owner, Randy Lerner, is ready to splash the cash again after two years of nervousness in the premier league, with Hernandez lined-up to head a revolution.
The Mexican is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, and is likely to be setting sights on a move away, with the likes of Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham all holding interest. Manchester United will not stand in the players way, with the striker desperate for regular playing time.
Along with Hernandez, Lescott is also known to be after a regular starting place, after falling short to the unexpected performances from Demichelis. Lescott is currently earing £90,000 a week at Manchester City, but Aston Villa are hopeful the player wlll take a wage-cut and agree a deal.
