Etienne Capoue and Benjamin Stambouli heading to newly-promoted Premier League side

Watford and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement for the transfers of Etienne Capoue and Benjamin Stambouli, according to Sky Sports News.

The midfield duo have failed to impress Mauricio Pochettino during his year at White Hart Lane and are now set to hold personal talks with the newly-promoted Premier League side.

Summer Sales at Spurs

Pochettino is busy getting rid of the deadwood in North London, with Paulinho already leaving for China and Lewis Holtby heading to Germany, with few more faces likely to follow.

According to reports, Capoue is close to agreeing personal terms with Watford, whilst Stambouli is still in negotiations with the London-based side.

Capoue was one of many faces arrive at White Hart Lane after Gareth Bale‘s move to Real Madrid, and despite featuring regularly for Andre Villas-Boas, his first-team status diminished under Tim Sherwood and Pochettino.

The 26-year-old has made just 19 Premier League starts in the last two years, and wasn’t included in any match-day squad in 2015.

As for Stambouli, he only arrived at Spurs last summer, but after failing to impress his new manager, he is also set to be sold to Watford with talks ongoing.

The 24-year-old made just four Premier League starts during the 2014/2015 campaign.

Busy Summer for Watford

If The Hornets can get the two deals over the line, they will be their fifth and sixth summer signings following; Jose Holebas, who is set to be announced next week, Sebastian Prodl, Giedrius Arlauskis and Matej Vydra.
