Everton has confirmed to reach an agreement with DC United with a permanent transfer of Wayne Rooney.

The former England Captain and all time leading goal scorer is departing to America on a permanent deal.

After returning and playing for his youth club for an year, the former Manchester United Midfielder is on his way to Washington ahead of a move to MSL with DC United.

A post of him being on an flight with an emoji of American Flag says about his future steps to MSL.

Rooney is set to sign a two and a half years deal with DC United. The contract is worth £10 million ($13m), making him the all time best paid player in the clubs history.

His former manager and currently Manchester United Boss, Jose Mourinho has spoken in the support of the deal,”He decides the MLS  and in MLS, you have always some iconic players that are going to end their career there. You have Gerrard, Lampard, Vieira, so many of them. Now you have Zlatan and Wayne. So I just hope he enjoys it.”

The club is presently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference in MSL, but Rooney’s deal will provide a boost to the club.
