We can match Germany, says Hodgson

England manager Roy Hodgson believes his side is capable of matching Germany when the two sides meet on Tuesday night.

The international friendly comes just days after Hodgson’s men lost 2-0 to Chile due to him experimenting with his first-team, but this time around, it seems that he will stick with his usual first-team with several players returning from injury.

There is some positive news ahead of the clash though as Germany are without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, captain Philipp Lahm and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Speaking in his press conference, Hodgson revealed that he believes his side can match The Germans.

“Germany will ask massive questions of us,” said Hodgson.

“But I am pretty sure that all of the XI who go out on Tuesday night will be anxious that they put any comparisons (with Germany) to bed.

“They will show they are every bit as good and that is what I believe they will be.”
