Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has now revealed that he expects his efforts to get Jamie Vardy to join Arsenal to fail.
After it was confirmed Arsenal had activated the release clause for the striker everyone pretty much expected Vardy to agree with the move to London.
However, as time has gone on the move has become more and more unlikely to happen, with Jamie himself telling international team mates that he was ’80 per cent’ sure he was going to stay with the Foxes, according to reports that is.
Now it looks as if the Arsenal boss has given up any hope of landing the in form striker.
In an interview with Japanese TV , the Arsenal Boss admitted he he expects Vardy to stay with the champions.
“Jamie Vardy, at the moment, is at Leicester,” he said, according to quotes on the Evening Standard. “On what I know he will stay at Leicester.”
Wenger, who is currently at Euro 2016 doing work for French TV, will now have to look elsewhere to add more force up-front.
