Wenger unmoved on Fabregas claims

Cesc Fabregas left Barcelona this summer to join Chelsea but Arsenal did have the chance to re-sign the former Gunner, three years after he left the club.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho suggested bringing Fabregas to the club was “an easy job” as he was not open to join his former side.

And Arsene Wenger is aware of these claims and remains unmoved by the comments. He spoke after his side’s pre-season win yesterday: “I think people came out and said he wanted to go to Chelsea.

“I don’t know who tells the truth here or not. He landed where he wanted to go.”

Wenger has been active in the transfer window this summer, landing the deals fo Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy as well as being linked with several midfielders.

He is planning to buy more players, with a goalkeeper at the top of his agenda after selling Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea and Emiliano Viviano’s loan spell with the Gunners ending.

“I’m happy with the business I’ve done until now but it’s not over,” said Wenger.

“There is still a long way to go and I’ll bring in another goalkeeper for sure.”
