Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out the rumours that he will buy a forward in the summer.

Wenger’s side are still firm title contenders, however the North London side have failed to score in their last three premier league encounters.

Despite this Wenger has ruled out prioritising a forward in the summer, to the dismay of many fans.

With only two out & out forwards available many thought Wenger would sign a goalscorer in January, with a potential move for Real Madrid star Karim Benzama mentioned. However this was not the case, and the Gunners where left with Theo Walcott & Oliver Giroud to score the goals.

Arsenal’s season may be boosted with Danny Welbeck returning from injury in the coming days.

Wenger spoke about the issue in his latest interview, “I don’t really understand prioritising a striker this summer unless you don’t rate the strikers you have,” he said. “I don’t see many strikers on the market who are better than our strikers.

“Our style is offensive, to go forward and maybe we lost a little bit our quality in the build-up over the longer period by losing people like Santi Cazorla who are providers. We have to redress that.”

“Overall it is frustrating because we had some periods where we scored for fun and we have dried out recently so we have to correct that.

“Goals are not only down to the strikers it’s down to the quality of the way you create goal chances and the quality of the chances you create. Not only down to the strikers.
