We’re gunner be in the title race, insists Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is confident that his team can finally end their trophy-less run by winning the Premier League.

The Frenchman saw his side demolish Southampton 6-1 at the weekend and he is confident that his team have the quality to be challenging for the title come May.

Wenger said: “We have a chance for the title but first we must show consistency.

“We have the quality to do it but we have to show how much we want it.”

Arsenal now have a big couple of weeks coming up with the start of the Champions League and then an away game against champions, Man City, followed by a home game against current league leaders, Chelsea.

Wenger added: “We have a big week coming up because we go on Tuesday now to Montpellier in the Champions League and then on Sunday we play at Man City – and we have two interesting weeks coming up because we play Chelsea as well.

“We will know more about our team then but there is a positive energy in this team, a desire to play well together, and real team play. It is very exciting.”
