Rickie Lambert to make shock Anfield exit?

West Brom are rumoured to be readying an offer for striker Rickie Lambert.

The striker has struggled at his boyhood club, scoring just twice in only seven starts all season.

Now it has emerged that Albion manager, Tony Pulis is keen on bringing the former Southampton man to the Hawthorns.

Strikers set to change at Liverpool

During his time at The Saints, Lambert managed to notch 29 goals over his two seasons in the Premier League, but with him only managing a tiny fraction of that this campaign, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to off load the striker.

A big name striker is at the top of Rodgers’ transfer targets, with Aston Villa‘s Christian Benteke reportedly the favourite to fill that void, leaving Lambert surplus to requirements.

West Brom want strikers

Pulis is apparently keen to bolster his goal scoring options next season after his team only netter 38 all season – only five teams scored fewer.

Albion have also reportedly enquired about the availability of Charlie Austin, but have been told to cough up ÂŁ10 million buy QPR, which may put them off.

Pulis will be determined to relieve star man Saido Berahino of some of the goal scoring burden next season, with the 21-year-old scoring nearly half of all their league goals last season.

The former Stoke City manager may hope that the ambition shown in trying to acquire these two strikers will persuade Berahino to sign a new long-term deal at the Birmingham club.
