After last week’s victory over Manchester United, West Brom had every right to be buzzing and today they put in yet another top-class performance to hault one of the league leaders.

Just before half-time the hosts took the lead after a Claudio Yacob header, but it was a deflected strike by Jack Wilshere than gave the visitors a lucky point.

Chances for Nicolas Anelka came and went and at the full-time whistle, both the teams had to settle for a point.

Below is some match reaction.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:

“It was breathless. West Brom showed why they won at Manchester United last week and we had a hell of a task to come back but we showed character and we had chances to go on an win it.

“They are strong on the break, they are quick and go forward with some quick players. We tried desperately to score the second goal and we had the chances late on to do it.

“Our position is good because when you look at how we started and now we’ve come out of two away games well so it’s a good position to start again after the break.”

West Brom boss Steve Clarke:

“We’ve got a resilient team and had a similar situation last week where United equalised so we didn’t rest on our laurels and tried to win the game which made it nerve wracking on the bench if I’m honest.

“I think if you watch the game from the start, both sides tried to play good football and we had to concentrate to nullify the opposition. You could see the tiredness at the end but that’s part and parcel of this league.”
