West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers are both to battle it out fo free agent Samuel Eto’o, according to the Metro.
Eto’o is a free agent after leab=ving Chelsea last month, and is rumoured to want to stay in London following his brief stint at Chelsea.
And West Ham are now closing in as the front runners, after QPR recently stated that they would not be prepared to pay Eto’o his high wage demands.
West Ham are in dear need of a striker, with Andrew Carroll ruled out for around four months following an injury during the Hammers tour of New Zealand.
The Hammers are prepared to do a deal with Eto’o, who scored 12 goals for Chelsea last season.
The striker has also attracted interest from Turkey in recent weeks.
