Tottenham midfielder is also wanted by Chelsea

West Ham United have reportedly joined the race alongside Chelsea to sign out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele.

The powerhouse midfielder joined White Hart Lane three years ago and upon arrival was a crucial player in the first-team. However, since Mauricio Pochettino‘s arrival, his status in the first-team has diminished and he is struggling for regular football.

Spurs Summer Sales

The 27-year-old is one of many faces that could be leaving Pochettino‘s side this summer, as the Argentine prepares himself for a squad overhaul, with him expected to ship out the deadwood and replace them with some of his own players.

Despite not being wanted by Spurs, according to reports, two London clubs are interested in taking the midfielder, and it’s believed to be West Ham United and Chelsea.

Chelsea Interest

Reports emerged yesterday that The Blues were keen on signing the midfielder, as Jose Mourinho seeks final touches to his championship winning team.

Mourinho has admitted he wants a defender, a midfielder and a striker to help add depth to his side, and Dembele could be the midfielder he brings in.

West Ham Enter Race

However, reports this morning have emerged and labelled West Ham as potential buyers for the Belgium international.

The Hammers have a new manager in Slaven Bilic, and he is ready to stamp his mark on the East London club after Sam Allardyce‘s departure and Dembele could be a signing the former-Besiktas boss makes.

It’s being reported a ÂŁ12million bid may be launched, which would be deemed acceptable by Tottenham.
