East London outfit want to sign Chelsea striker

West Ham United are in advanced talks with Chelsea regarding a potential deal for striker Loic Remy, according to reports.

The French striker is wanted by four Premier League clubs it’s been revealed, but it’s now been reported that The Hammers are in pole position as they begin formal talks with their London rivals.

Interest in Remy

Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Southampton have all been linked with making Summer moves for Remy, but they will have to do some catching up as West Ham begin talks.

Remy is frustrated in West London after failing to break into Jose Mourinho‘s first-team during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

Remy’s Chelsea Struggles

The 28-year-old joined Chelsea last Summer in a deal worth £8million from Queens Park Rangers, but has failed to complete a full game during his debut campaign.

However, in eight starts, the forward has managed to net seven goals for The Blues, but that might not be enough to keep him at the club.

Chelsea have already lost one striker this Summer with Didier Drogba leaving, but they are close to signing Radamel Falcao after Mourinho dropped the biggest hint yet that they will be signing the Colombian.

If Falcao does arrive at The Bridge, that would see Remy drop to third-choice, meaning his game-time would be even more limited.

New Manager at Upton Park

West Ham are expected to have a busy Summer after they replaced Sam Allardyce with Slaven Bilic and Remy is seen as an ideal signing for the new manager.
