First deadline day deal sees Barcelona player return to Upton Park for another season
Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has returned to West Ham on-loan for another season.
West Ham were keen to secure the services of the Cameroon international after a successful loan spell last season.
The 27-year-old has spent most of the summer nursing an ankle injury, throwing into doubt whether or not he would be able to leave parent club Barcelona during the current transfer window.
West Ham chairman David Gold was the man to unveil the news this morning, as he took to Twitter
“It has just been confirmed,” he wrote. “Alex Song has signed a season long loan deal to join West Ham. Welcome back Alex. dg.”
