West Ham could release SEVEN players as manager Sam Allardyce looks to improve the quality of his squad for next season. The Hammers are also targeting a possible EIGHT additions to the squad.

None of the three players that the club signed on loan in January – that’s Italian duo Marco Borriello and Antonio Nocerino plus Colombian full-back Pablo Armero – will be offered terms to stay, while four players from the senior squad are set to go too.

Midfielders Joe Cole and Jack Collison as well as full-back George McCartney are unlikely to be offered new deals when their current contracts expire next month. Finally, former France international Alou Diarra looks certain to leave Upton Park despite still having a year left on his current deal. On the other hand, Matt Taylor – whose contract also expires next month – looks set to be offered a new contract.

Another player the club will be looking to keep is Winston Reid. The New Zealand defender is currently attracting some interest from several sides including Liverpool.

As for who West Ham are signing, Big Sam has claimed he wants EIGHT new players this summer. Some of the transfer targets on Allardyce’s list are believed to be Joleon Lescott, Jake Livermore, Josip Drmic and Phil Bardsley.
