West Ham United just registered their 9th loss of the 2018/19 Premier League season and Manuel Pellegrini is far from happy.

The Irons’ form is constantly getting wrecked by injuries and the Chilean boss is ready to go into the January transfer window to make the necessary additions.

A new striker seems to be a must for Pellegrini, despite having Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez in the squad. Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi who is currently on loan with Valencia remains a heavy favourite for United.

West Ham are also close to signing decorated free-agent, Samir Nasri for the remainder of the season. The Frenchman is returning from his doping ban and is expected to infuse some creativity into the team’s attack.

It has been difficult for Pellegrini with Jack Wilshere, Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko and Carlos Sanchez, all injured.

Another veteran face, Gary Medel is also being eyed up by the Hammers boss. The 31-year-old can take up defensive responsibilities at the centre of the pitch and offer more dynamism to the team’s attack.

Currently, West Ham are a bit short staffed in the full-back department and Pellegrini wants that to change that as well. Pablo Zabaleta is a constant on the right with Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell getting rotated around on the left.

Reece Oxford does not have a place in the first team and is expected to leave the London Stadium soon.
