West Ham will not hold talks over crisis with Payet

Reports saying West Ham want to hold crisis talks with Payet are way off the mark and they are not concerned about comments that he made to the French media last week.

The 29 year old Frenchmen made comments about him moving away from the club to french television channel Telefoot on Sunday and that the move could be as close as January.

“We’ve had a very poor start. Leave in January? I’m asking other questions right now but I’ve closed the door to nothing” he said.

Reports say the interview has been listened to by a translator at West Ham and that the club do not see these comments as an intention to move.

Payet who arrived from Marseille in 2015 for £10.75m has scored 14 goals in 48 appearances for the club.

He put pen to paper on a new five and a half year deal in February to end the interest of clubs in pursuit of his signature.

West ham sit in 16th place having only one 3 of their opening 11 league games.
