Left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto has cancelled his £40,000-a-week Tottenham Hotspur contract by mutual consent.
The Cameroon international has been released by the North London club, in an attempt to find a new club and consistent first team football.
Assou-Ekotto spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers during their Premier League promotion campaign.
However, since returning to Tottenham, he hasn’t played a single match under the new regime of Mauricio Pochettino.
The 30-year old made just over 200 appearances in around nine years at Spurs.
