The Sunday People claims Sporting Lisbon’s defensive midfielder will become an Old Trafford player before the World Cup finals in Brazil, where he will represent Portugal.
The Angola-born star has attracted interest from all over Europe, including Chelsea, but the People says United have already shown the 21-year-old’s agent around their Carrington training ground and will trigger his £37million release clause.
Next on the list for manager David Moyes, the paper says, will be Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos followed by Southampton left-back Luke Shaw and Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao.
