Wilshere to return after 2 more games with U21’s

Jack Wilshere is set to return to the Arsenal first team after a long injury spell out, after 2 more games playing for the under-21s.

The 24-year-old is yet to make an appearence in the Premier League this season after fracturing his leg the day before Arsenal’s 2-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea in August.

The England international played more than an hour the other night against Newcastle for the Under-21’s, and it’s thought he’ll feature again on Thursday against Swansea and then once more on Monday against West Brom.

The Gunners academy graduate is desperate to regain his spot in Arsene Wenger’s side ahead of England’s Euro 2016 campaign, saying earlier this month: “That is the aim.

“I have said before I want to go to the Euros and I know that I have to get back into the Arsenal team. I have to persuade the England manager and Arsene Wenger that I should play.

“I felt good. It is nice to be back at Emirates Stadium and play my first game. I know that I’m not there yet, not quite ready to play in the first team but it is another step closer to my fitness.

“You can train as much as you want, but the toughest thing is getting competition ready with the players and this all helps.”
