Pole doesn’t want AS Roma deal to be permanent

AS Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has revealed his desire to return to parent-club Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Poland international is currently on a season-long loan in Italy with the Serie A side after Arsenal signed Petr Cech from Chelsea for ÂŁ11million.

After Cech‘s arrival, Arsene Wenger had to make the decision of who to keep at the club, Szczesny or David Ospina.

Despite numerous clubs wanting the Colombian on a permanent deal, Wenger instead decided to loan out Szczesny with Roma striking the deal.

Although the Polish shot-stopper is enjoying first-team football again, he’s revealed that his dream is to return to Arsenal and challenge Cech for the number-one jersey at the Emirates Stadium.

Szczesny Wants Arsenal Future

“I saw Arsenal as my whole life and I do not hide that is still my dream,” he said.

“For me it is a family, I owe so much to those people that if I were to be given a chance I would play for them again.

“With Wenger there is no love or hate – he’s always been fair with me.

“Nine months is a long time in football, things can change from week to week.”
