Wolfsburg have stepped up their attempts to sign Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski, reports the Metro.
The German international is set to leave Arsenal after two years, with a return to the Bundesliga firmly on the cards.
As it stands, as sillyseason reported last month, Turkish side Galatasaray are currently favourites to land the 29 year old World Cup winner, with fellow Turkish Superliga side Besiktas also keen to take him to Istanbul.
Arsenal are willing to let Podolski move onto pastures new, having signed Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez next month, and the player favours a move back to Germany, with Wolfsburg leading the pack of several Bundesliga clubs.
