Wolves delivered a cheeky jab at Chelsea while announcing the signing of Brazilian prodigy Pedro Lima in a playful video on social media. The 18-year-old, who had caught Chelsea’s eye, committed to a five-year contract at Molineux, with an additional year option, after Wolves splashed out £8.5 million to secure his talents.
The club’s announcement video on X features Matheus Cunha, who humorously finalizes the deal while chuckling over a false report claiming Chelsea had already signed Lima. The young Brazilian then enters the scene to sign his contract, marking his official welcome to the Wolves squad.

Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs expressed delight at landing Lima, highlighting the fierce competition for his signature.
“We’re thrilled to have Pedro join our first-team squad,” Hobbs stated. “He’s got immense potential and a clear vision for his future, and we’re here to support that.”
Lima, who shone at last year’s U17 World Cup for Brazil, joins Wolves after a breakthrough season with Palmeiras, where he made 26 senior appearances. Hobbs praised Lima’s ambition and dedication, emphasizing the club’s commitment to nurturing his talent. “He’s eager to improve and challenge the current squad, and there’s no better mentor for him than Nelson,” he added.
Choosing Wolves over Chelsea, Lima’s decision reflects his belief in Wolves’ project. Hobbs lauded the youngster’s maturity, saying, “For a 17-year-old to choose us over Chelsea shows real strength. He’s focused on football and excited to meet his new teammates.”
Lima becomes Wolves’ fourth summer signing, joining Tommy Doyle, Rodrigo Gomes, and Jorgen Strand Larsen. As pre-season approaches, Wolves fans eagerly anticipate Lima’s impact on the team.
