Wolves To Make Raul Jimenez Move Permanent

Wolves are set to make Raul Jimenez’s loan stay permanent from Benfica in the coming summer, the club has announced.

Jimenez has been central to Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans and has been heavily involved since his summer move from the Portuguese club. The 27 year old has been the preferred number 9 and his sparkling form could lead Wolves to Europe next season.

With 15 goals and eight assists in his tally he has completely justified his selection and is set to be rewarded with a new four year contract. Wolves recently splashed the cash for Jonny Castro who also signed a new contract in January having arrived at the club from Atletico Madrid on loan.

Jimenez could be the record signing in the club history. Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell, said  “The impact Raúl has made during his short time at the club has been fantastic and we’re delighted that he’ll be part of the club’s long-term future.

“From the second he walked through the door, he settled straight into the group, and that reflects in his performance, with Raúl providing assists and overall selfless performances, as well as obviously goals.

“His goals in the Premier League and FA Cup have been vital to this season’s success and we’re looking forward to seeing him contribute even more during what will be an exciting end to the season in both competitions.

Raúl’s permanent signing shows the ambition of this football club and the determination to make sure the future is an exciting one.”
