The player was very impressive in the whole tournament

Benjamin Pavard made a name for himself with France at the World Cup in Russia this summer as helped the Les Bleus to lift the trophy after 20 years. He was relatively unknown before the tournament but established himself as one best full-back in the world.

The 22 year old featured in the all matches and his volley against Argentina was voted the World Cup’s goal of the tournament.

The defender joined VFB Stuttgart from Lille back in 2016, signing a 4 year contract and played in the second division of Bundesliga that season. He made his senior debut for the club in the upcoming season and has been a mainstay in the defense since then, playing in variety positions.

The player was one of the most sought players prior to the transfer closing attracting attention from Premier League trio Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal. He was also linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

A move never materialised as the transfer window closed but there have been heavy speculations that he has reached an agreement with the Bundesliga giants to join them in future.

But Pavard has dismissed the claims that he agreed to join any team and insisted he is happy at his current club.

Discussing the Bayern links, Pavard – on international duty with France for the UEFA Nations League – told L’Equipe as quoted by Goal : “I did not sign anything at all [with Bayern].

You are the journalists who say that I signed [for Bayern].

“I’m in Stuttgart, I’m fine there. My career plan was to stay one more season in Germany.

“I am in a very big German club, with fantastic fans. This club is a family, that’s what I need and that’s what I like about this club. I’m very good there.

“It’s true that the World Cup came faster than expected, nobody expected it, not even me at the very beginning.”
