Zenit manager Andre Villas-Boas has denied talks are ongoing around Faclao.

The Colombian has failed to hit the ground running this term and has only managed one goal since his move from Monaco, leading to talks of his deal been cut short in January.

Villas-Boas has declared he is not interested in the former Manchester United man because of his high wages.

Boas managed Chelsea in 2011 but was unsecudfull and was sacked after less than a year in charge.

When asked about Falcao, he said: “No, I haven’t had a conversation with Jose. The player belongs to Chelsea, on loan from Monaco.

“It’s difficult to bring such a player to Russia with the rules and regulations we have, we tried to bring him here in the summer at the start of the season.”

“Due to the limitations we can’t bring Falcao here, his salary is immense too and the financial rules in place prevent this.

“And we don’t have space. We have (Artyom) Dzyuba – he scored two goals, his form is great for the club and the national team and he deserves respect.”
