The Colombia international has been a target for Man United and PSG

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has claimed he doesn’t want James Rodriguez to leave the club this summer.

Zidane has spoken out about the reports linking the player with a move away from the Bernabeu and had this to say about the midfielder: “I do not want him to leave, he is a Madrid player, he just wants to play more, but you have to do what he is doing and work.”

It looked like the 25-year old was on his way out of the Bernabeu, with several teams interested. Both PSG and Man United have registered an interest over the summer, with Rodriguez reportedly on the lookout for more consistent first-team action.

PSG considering big bid

At Real Madrid, he has struggled to nail down a consistent place in the side and was believed to be considering his options elsewhere.

Man United have been considering a bid for the 25-year old, as have PSG, with the French side reportedly planning to bid a whopping ÂŁ52m for his services.

However, it now appears that he could be staying in Spain, with his manager insisting that he wants to keep hold of the Colombia star.
