Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has insisted that Real Madrid are unlikely to sign a new player, quashing the links relating to Neymar.

Los Blancos have consistently been linked with a move for the Paris Saint Germain ace this summer as his future at the Parc Des Princes remains uncertain. Barcelona are also rumoured to be in the race to bring him back to the Nou Camp.

Speaking about his squad, Zidane said,

“Our mind is only focused on Saturday’s match. This is the squad we have and next Saturday we’ll play La Liga, period. That’s it.”

The statement Zidane made also appeared to cancel out any possibility of a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. According to certain reports, the Frenchman is currently said to be at loggerheads with Florentino Perez over signing his countryman.

However, when asked about Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, Zidane refused to rule out the possibility of their departures.

“James and Bale are Real Madrid players. They’re both registered but anything can happen and I have to count on them. James didn’t make the list but that could change. Anything can happen until the end of the transfer window,” explained the coach.

Zidane also discussed his strategy and tactics as he said,

“We’re not playing with five defenders, there’s three defenders and two fullbacks who play up the pitch. We did very well the other day. We will change our formations because we have many players and we can do many different things.”
