Zlatan argues, meanwhile Cavani scores

Big summer transfer Edinson Cavani started on the bench, probably to get some rest ahead of the Champions League game on Wednesday against SL Benfica, so with Cavani on the bench Zlatan Ibrahimovic got the starting spot against Toulouse.

However, Ibra did not impress and the first half wasn’t kind on the Swedish striker.

Thus far Ibrahimovic has only scored 2 goals in 8 games this league season, while his striking partner, Cavani has scored 3 in just 5. Also to keep in mind, out of those five Cavani has only started in two.

After 69 minutes of hard work it was time for Cavani to replace Ibra, but before that the Swede found time to argue with the referee and some oppositional players, especially Abel Aguilar and Zlatan’s old teammate and ”enemy” Jonathan Zebina whom he played with a couple years back in the Juventus shirt. Zlatan mentioned Zebina in his auto-biography and has stated that he knocked him out during a practice in Turin.

The incident that eventually led to Zlatan being substituted off was Zebina fouling Zlatan and then the following argument. It’s said that after the tackle Zlatan yelled, ”If you want to play ugly, tell me before, and I will also play ugly!”. After the game Ibrahimovic seemed to show some signs of regret and said that it was just a reflex and that he did not have time to think clearly.

So, after Zlatans argument and protests Cavani went on to definetly put the game to an end by being fouled in the penalty area and then putting it into the back of the net himself. The game ended PSG 2-0 Toulouse.

Cavani and Ibrahimovic are both loking to catch up with the Ligue 1 top scorer Radamel Falcao, AS Monaco, who has managed to score 7 in the league already.
