Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his first MLS hat-trick in LA Galaxy’s 4-3 win over Orlando City at Carson, California. The match was an exciting encounter and Orlando City took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Cristian Higuita. LA Galaxy equalized in the 39th minute through Giovani dos Santos.

However, just five minutes later, an own goal by Michael Ciani restored the lead for Orlando City. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of Orlando City but no one had any idea of what was to follow in the second half.

Just two minutes in the second half, Giovani dos Santos delivered a magnificent cross from the left flank and Ibrahimovic headed the ball in to equalize for LA Galaxy. Orlando City restored the lead in the 54th minute thanks to Dominic Dwyer. Then in the 67th minute, Ibrahimovic  scored his second of the match through a header from an Ola Kamara pass. The scores were level at 3-3.

Just four minutes later, the former Manchester United player completed his hat-trick and LA Galaxy took the lead for the first time in the game. It was Galaxy’s first hat-trick since Robbie Keane’s against San Jose Earthquakes in July 2015. Coincidentally, that hat-trick was also scored at Carson, California.

LA Galaxy are currently third in the Western Conference behind FC Dallas and Los Angeles FC. Having joined LA Galaxy in March, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has so far scored 15 goals in 17 matches for the club.
