Chelsea working on Sami Khedira deal

0

Chelsea are working on a deal to potentially sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira on a free transfer next Summer, beating rivals; Arsenal and Manchester United, to the signing.

The English trio have all shown interest in Khedira since the Summer transfer market, and although the midfielder’s wage demands blocked any potential move, it’s believed that all three are still interested in him with his contract nearing it’s end at the Bernabeu.

With just several months left on his current deal, Madrid are keen to sell the German in January, with Arsenal the initial favourites to sign him after reportedly agreeing a contract with the midfielder, but since then, reports have emerged that Chelsea are working on a lucrative deal which could see the 27-year-old complete a Summer move to The Bridge.

Due to the Bosman Ruling, Khedira can talk to any overseas club as soon as January, and according to reports, Chelsea are already putting together a contract to present to the German international, hoping he will agree to it and sign for them in principle before completing the move in June, once his contract expires in Spain.

Barcelona staff begged club not to sign Thomas Vermaelen

0

FC Barcelona’s medical staff begged the club’s officials not to sign Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal over the Summer, due to his constant injury problems.

Despite their pleas, the Spanish giants went ahead with the deal and signed the Belgium centre-back in a deal worth ÂŁ15million, but due to those injury problems, he has failed to make a senior appearance for his new side.

According to Spanish reports, medics at Barca made aware to the officials that Vermaelen has a bad history of injuries, and it has been clear since his arrival at the Nou Camp that they were right, with him struggling with numerous knocks already.

It’s believed that at one point, the medical staff even begged the club to pull out of the deal, but their pleads fell on death ears as the transfer was confirmed and finalised.

Arsenal moved quickly to replace the Belgium by bringing in Calum Chambers from Southampton.

Arsenal confident of signing Mats Hummels

0

According to reports, Arsenal are confident that they can sign Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels, in a deal worth ÂŁ32million, either in January or next Summer.

The German international, who has been wanted by Manchester United throughout the Summer, rejected a move to the Premier League in order to stay at Dortmund and was later made captain by manager, Jurgen Klopp.

However, The Gunners, who are light at the back due to injuries, are feeling confident that an offer of around ÂŁ32m will be enough to see the Bundesliga club accept the offer and part ways with their star defender.

Despite spending all the Summer window trying to lure him away from Dortmund, it’s believed that United have given up on signing him and are now looking at other possible candidates, leaving Arsenal with a potential clear path to sign him.

Wass open to Premier League move

0

Danish defender Daniel Wass has revealed that he would be open to a move to the Premier League in January.

The 25 year old, who currently plays for French side Evian, is a proposed target for both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Indeed, the Reds considered a bid for the centre back in the summer, however any sort of deal stalled for the highly-rated defender.

Wass, who can also play as a full-back, has been in France for two years, and has made 74 appearances for the Ligue 1 side since his permanent move to Evian in 2012, having spent the previous season on loan from Benfica.

Chelsea and Liverpool are both likely to go in pursuit to attempt to sign him, with Wass open to any move should one come his way.

â€śMy head is still in Evian but if you offer me a departure in January, I will not say no.

“I want to progress and prove my abilities at a higher level.

“But a club has to be interested to meet the requirements that Evian have.”

Manchester United face competition for midfielder

0

Real Madrid have entered the bidding to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, denting Manchester United’s hopes of signing the player.

The Red Devils were lining up a January move for the player to reinforce their midfield options, and Dortmund had quoted them ÂŁ20m.

But Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has identified the midfielder as a possible addition and is set to make a move to beat the competition to the German star’s signature.

However money was no object for United in the summer and they have shown they have the financial muscle to recruit almost anyone, setting the scene for an interesting transfer battle.

French journalist claims Remy was wrong to join Chelsea

0

A French journalist has blasted Chelsea forward Loic Remy for joining the club this summer.

Remy has found first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge limited due to the outstanding form of Diego Costa, although he scored on his debut against Swansea.

And Pierre Menes has been quick to have a pop for Remy making the move, despite the striker scoring in France’s 3-0 win over Armenia in Euro 2016 qualifying.

Menes said:

“Given the game time he is not getting, which will continue to happen at Chelsea I believe it is a pretty bad career choice.

“But that’s another topic. It is clear that he must show something in each of his appearances for France.

“He scored against Spain, he scores again in Armenia, plus a shot against the post.

“It shows that even in a time of very limited play he is still able to bring something to this team.”

He has made almost 150 appearances for the club since joining from Portsmouth in 2009.

Johnson’s contract is up at the end of the season, and Benitez could decide to make a move in the January transfer window.

When asked about his future, Johnson said:

“Like you said it’s very quiet. I am just concentrating week by week and not thinking about it.

“Of course I want to stay, yeah. But like I say I worry about this week, this week and then next week, next week. That is how I live my life.”

Benitez may also make a move for Manchester City midfielder James MIlner.

Khedira set for January departure

0

Real Madrid are prepared to offload versatile midfielder Sami Khedira in the January transfer window, and it is rumoured that the Champions League winners have lined Lucas Silva as his replacement.

Khedira was subject to interest from Arsenal in the Summer transfer window, although nothing materialised, despite calls from Arsenal fans for a bulkier defensive midfielder to help push Arsenal to the next level.

However, it now seems Madrid are ready to let the World Cup winner depart for a nominal fee in January, rather than risk letting him leave on a free in the summer when his current deal expires.

With Arsenal and Chelsea keeping a close eye on the situation, the 10-time Champions League winners must find his replacement and they think they have one in Cruzeiro midfielder, Silva.

Understood to be a like for like replacement, the 21 year old has not yet made his debut for the Brazilian national team, but it is understood that the La Liga giants are still keen on acquiring his services.

Jack Grealish pens four-year deal

0

Aston Villa starlet, Jack Grealish, has snubbed a move to Premier League giants, Chelsea, by penning a new four year deal at Villa Park.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who has made four Premier League appearances this season from the substitute bench, had been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in the Summer, after impressing in reserve matches, but he has rubbished those reports by signing a new contract in the Midlands.

Grealish, who has been a Villa fan since his childhood, has spoken out about his delight at signing a new deal at the club, and he has insisted that he cannot wait to fully break into the club’s first-team.

“It’s a dream come true to commit my future to my boyhood club,” Grealish told the club’s official website.

“I’ve grown up supporting the club – in fact, I’ve had a season ticket at Villa since I was four-years-old and came to every game – so this is a big thing for me and my family.

“All of my family are Villa fans and my dad has been there from the start, all through my career he’s followed me and he hasn’t missed a Villa game this season.

“This has always been a club that plays a big role in the community, it has a family feel to it and I’m proud to be part of that now. This feels like home to me.”

As well as Grealish, Villa boss, Paul Lambert, has also voiced his pleasure at the new contract.

“There’s always an excitement around a young player who comes through the Academy, but the thing is the potential we have signed in Jack Grealish is great for everyone connected with Villa,” Lambert added.

“He has a long way to go in the game but the potential that’s in him, we believe, means we could have a really good player in the years to come.
